#1. Comprehensive & Tested Curriculum

At Public Speaking Academy, we take great satisfaction in our unique syllabus & curriculum – in which we do not import curriculum from external overseas organization – our curriculum is designed and developed by our founder Darren Tay, who won the 2016 World Championship of Public Speaking, being a competitive public speaker who has won many national and international championships (list of accolades here) as well as being a public speaking trainer since the age of 22 (list of companies taught at here). Therefore, our curriculums, both kids and adults, are based on our tried-and-tested frameworks:

For adults, the exact set of skills and techniques (curriculum here) that won Darren his public speaking competitions (in areas of impromptu speaking, evaluation speech, inspirational speech, and humorous speech).

For kids, our curriculum follows the needs of students throughout their academic year in school – for instance, the starting term will focus on interpersonal communication skills as they enter a new school or new class/ stream, whilst the middle term syllabi focus on what their school work demands in terms of oral examination and DSA interview.

Throughout the past 7 years, we have been getting input from parents, trainers, and students on a regular basis, and we use it to improve our methodologies and adjust to changing demands in education.

#2. Experienced Instructors

At Public Speaking Academy, we take great pride in our team of trainers – in which we do not recruit generically on job portals – our trainers are handpicked and trained personally by our founder himself (all of which have experience in public speaking and teaching prior). Even after being schooled and deemed sufficiently well-versed on our methodologies and curriculum, they will have to shadow World Champion Darren Tay in his classes to observe and co-train to sharpen his/ her training capabilities and experience. #3. Interactive Learning Environment

At Public Speaking Academy, we believe in practice, which is why our students are guaranteed practical opportunities EVERY single lesson (to apply the techniques taught during that lesson). Verily, what is inevitable is the theory portion, where our trainers impart the knowledge, tips, frameworks and techniques. However, we believe that theory should be disseminated in an enthralling manner that boosts knowledge retention rate. At Public Speaking Academy, we believe that in today’s digital age, it’s essential for a school of confidence, to have the confidence to integrate technology into its methodologies. These includes using video recording tools for self-assessment, utilizing online platforms for lesson management such as sharing of recorded classes for those who are absent, and incorporating multimedia resources (online quizzes and games) to gamify learning experiences.
