[Part 1 of 5] Speak, Present With Confidence!

Using Just 1,600 Words to Persuade & Influence

Today, we’re going to talk about one of the greatest speech of all time. Through this speech, you will be able to learn many great lessons from it. In fact, you might have even heard of this speech at least ONCE in your life before. The speech titled: “I Have A Dream” by Martin Luther King. If you haven’t heard it before, you can watch it through the YouTube video I’ve placed below.

This is one famous phrase from his speech: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” He gave this speech in 1963 and it was a total of around 1,600 words. In just 1,600 words (6mins), he expressed his vision. In just 1,600 words, he was able to influence and inspire people to think differently. Now just imagine if he spoke differently… Will he have the same impact? Will he be able to inspire and influence? This is the power of public speaking/communication skills. When you master it, you have the ability to influence, inspire and change people’s lives. Now I know that for some of you, it’s not so much about influencing and inspiring others. It more of a simple desire to become a better communicator and speaker. To be able to communicate your ideas across more effectively. To be able to engage and impress people. To be able to use these skills so you can stand out and advance in your career. Well, in the next training, I’m going to share with you some techniques on why he’s able to persuade and influence. I’ll share with you a few powerful techniques that you too can use to become a confident speaker. For now, watch and hear the speech. See you in 2 days!   To Your Future, Darren Tay
